Senior Associate – Vice President

This role focuses on Client Coverage, Origination, and Distribution of Capital Markets and Loan Market products. It involves cultivating strong relationships with clients, investors, lenders and intermediate  between corporate and commercial banking teams of all banking affiliates within the First Holdco. Plc  Group, and the investment banking team across various verticals. The individual will primarily oversee the  distribution of structured capital markets products and syndication of risk assets and act as a trusted  advisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client Coverage and Origination:  
    • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to identify opportunities  for capital markets and project and structured finance type transactions.  
    • Collaborate with banking affiliates within the Group to originate new transactions,  ensuring seamless client engagement and alignment on client needs.  
    • Provide strategic insights to clients on available capital raising solutions.  
  • Sales and Distribution:  
    • Develop and implement sales and distribution strategies for primary market offerings,  including bonds, commercial papers, and syndicated loans.  
    • Engage with a network of institutional investors, High-Net Worth Individuals, and other  financial market participants to support asset distribution.  
    • Drive pre-marketing efforts for new issuances and maintain investor interest throughout  the lifecycle of transactions.  
    • Monitor investor sentiment and market dynamics to optimize transaction outcomes.  o Ensure extensive investor coverage for all transactions and seek their active participation. 
  • Collaboration:  
    • Work closely with various teams across the investment banking division to align  distribution strategies with client needs.  
    • Coordinate investor roadshows, presentations, and one-on-one meetings to ensure  successful transaction execution and distribution.  
    • Act as the point of contact between banking affiliates within the Group, clients, and the  investment banking execution team.
  • Market Intelligence and Relationship Management:
    • Stay updated on capital markets, loan markets, and regulatory trends across the financial  market to provide informed recommendations to clients.  
    • Build and manage relationships with institutional investors, credit providers, and  distribution channels to enhance placement capabilities.  
    • Monitor and report on market developments, pricing benchmarks, and competitive  activity  
  • Performance Monitoring:  
    • Track and report on the success of distribution activities, including investor feedback and  distribution outcomes.  o Develop strategies to optimize investor coverage and improve distribution effectiveness.

EXPERIENCE / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION  

  • A minimum of 10 years’ core experience in investment banking and/or Client Coverage
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIS, CFA) will be an added advantage

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable tertiary institution. 
  • Master’s degree will be an added advantage
